Fred Demers, President of Fred Demers Associates, Inc., has twenty eight years of experience providing human resource leadership to for-profit and not-for-profit small, mid-sized and large organizations. Since 2007, he has operated Fred Demers Associates, and prior to that, held operations positions at General Electric Company, American General Insurance, and McCormick & Company. As HR Director and Management Team member, he has been successful in all areas of human resource management (see Project and Process list for detail). His experience is in wide settings – responsibility for HR support to manufacturing across the United States, national sales teams, research & development sites in the US and UK, and information technology sites in the U.S., UK and France.

Fred's HR line contributions, coupled with his coaching and advising at all levels up through General Manager, have effectively contributed to his internal and external clients’ ability to manage through all types of change – growth, openings, consolidation, closings, relocations, downsizing, and re-design. At the same time, he has worked with individuals at various stages of professional development - career exploration and transition, new employee (including executive) integration, effective leadership and performance improvement.

Fred is a Career Management Consultant with Right Management, Inc., an international consulting and career transition services provider, and is a Director / Trustee of EMA (Maryland non-profit, continuing care retirement communities), serving on the Strategic Planning and Human Resource Committees.

Fred holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MS in Organization Development from American University/NTL, and the Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University. He has earned the designation of Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) from the American Compensation Association (WorldatWork), and Senior Professional in Human Resource Management from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). He is a member of the International Coaching Federation, SHRM, and WorldatWork. He has two sons, Ben and Peter, and wife Barbara, and lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
